In the German parliament, a new bill permitting cannabis use for recreational purposes is scheduled to be put to a vote. If lawmakers vote in favor, adults in Germany over the age of 18 will be permitted to possess large amounts of cannabis, but purchasing the drug will be restricted due to tight regulations. Possession of up to 25g, or almost an ounce, would be allowed in public spaces, and in private homes the legal upper limit would be 50g.
