
LONDON and ROME — According to the Vatican, Pope Francis remained in the hospital on Sunday due to a respiratory tract infection, despite showing “some” improvement in his lab tests.
After being admitted to the hospital on Friday, the pope had his second consecutive sleepless night, Vatican press room director Matteo Bruni told reporters on Sunday.
“Pope Francis slept peacefully. As usual, Bruni reported that he had a good night’s sleep, ate breakfast, and read a few papers.
