Pakistan: Gunmen kill seven Punjabis in bus attack

Authorities said that passengers of Punjabi descent were killed when gunmen attacked a bus in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. Attacks targeting Punjabi laborers have been on the rise.

Balochistan has seen an increase in violence.

In the southwest region of Balochistan, which borders Iran and Afghanistan, the bus was attacked in the Barkhan district.

According to Saadat Hussain, a senior government official, the attackers destroyed the bus’s tires on a highway near the Punjabi provincial border, as reported by the AFP news agency.

The gunmen then insisted on seeing everyone on the bus’s identification cards.

“The terrorists killed the passengers from Punjab province after they were taken off. Hussain claimed that they were shot dead after being lined up.

Attacks on Punjabi workers have increased.
It is unclear who carried out the attack. Separatist violence has plagued Balochistan for many years.

The most active organization in the area is the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The group typically targets Pakistanis from other provinces as well as security forces.
