Antony James, 35, of Crownhill in Plymouth, was convicted of eight sexual offences, including three counts of rape in October 2024. A former Olympic swimmer and student police officer found guilty of a string of sexual offences relating to two teenage girls, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison

Other offences include three counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

At the time, the court heard how James sexually touched one of the girls when she was under the age of 16.

At Plymouth Crown Court on Wednesday 26 February, Antony James was sentenced to a total of years 21 in prison. He’ll serve two thirds of that sentence in jail and is then expected to be released on licence.

The court heard how the offences took place over a 10-year period between 2012 and 2022.
