Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says trilateral high-level talks with Russia and the United States on a Ukraine peace plan have been postponed at Washington’s request due to the situation in Iran.
Zelenskyy wrote in a social media post on Monday that, for now, partners are prioritizing the situation involving Iran. He said that because of this, the meeting planned for this week has been postponed at the request of the United States.
He wrote, “However, Ukraine is ready for a meeting at any moment, in a format that can help and that will be realistic in terms of ending the war.”
Senior officials from the three sides have held US-backed talks on a peace plan for Russia and Ukraine three times this year in Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
Zelenskyy had said the fourth meeting would likely be held in early March. But it had been uncertain whether the talks would take place after the United States and Israel launched operations against Iran
