Airline passengers bound for Worcester from Orlando, Florida, were delayed when a JetBlue plane veered off a taxiway. The incident involving Flight 488 occurred Friday, July 4, at Orlando International Airport.
There were no injuries, according to the airline.
JetBlue has a daily connection between Orlando and Worcester Regional Airport. Passengers on Flight 488 eventually arrived in Worcester, about five hours later.
JetBlue, in a statement, said the plane was taxiing for takeoff when the nose gear veered into a grassy area. Passengers were returned to the terminal by bus.
“At JetBlue, safety is our highest priority. We are conducting a thorough investigation and will work closely with the appropriate authorities to determine the cause of the incident,” the airline said.
