Poland’s Julia Wandel, 23, also called Julia Wandelt, was taken into custody on Wednesday at Bristol Airport. Her court appearance is scheduled for this Friday.
Four stalking charges have been brought against a woman claiming to be Madeleine McCann.She will appear at Leicestershire Magistrates’ Court on Friday after being placed under remand in custody.
Of the four counts, two pertain to offenses committed between May 2, 2024, and February 15, 2025. Wandel was additionally accused of stalking from January 3rd to April 21st of last year. The fourth count concerns offenses committed between November 27 and January 29 of the previous year.
According to the force, a 60-year-old Welsh woman who was also detained on suspicion of stalking has been freed on bail.

Two of the four counts relate to offences between 2 May 2024 and 15 February 2025. Wandel was also charged with a further count of stalking between 3 January and 21 April last year. The fourth count relates to offences between 27 November and 29 January last year.
A 60-year-old woman from Wales, who was also arrested on suspicion of stalking, has been released on bail, the force added.
Madeleine’s disappearance has become the world’s most mysterious missing child cases. Madeleine disappeared in Portugal’s Algarve back in 2007 while on holiday with her family.
