Opposition Leader María Corina Machado Rallies Supporters Against Maduro’s Controversial Election Win

Opposition leader María Corina Machado joined thousands of demonstrators in Caracas, urging them to stand strong and not to be afraid in their protest against Nicolas Maduro’s contentious presidential election win last month.

Across Venezuela, opposition supporters gathered to voice their disapproval of Maduro’s victory, which many see as deeply flawed and illegitimate.

Ms. Machado, who had been in hiding after facing charges of insurrection, made a powerful statement during the rally. “The voice of the people is supreme, and they have spoken,” she declared, emphasizing the importance of the public’s will in the face of adversity.

In response to the demonstrations, police and military forces were deployed in significant numbers. Meanwhile, supporters of Maduro also organized a counter-demonstration, reflecting the deep divisions within the country.
