Venezuela blames the widespread power outage on “sabotage.”

A partial or total blackout of electricity is affecting the entire country in the early morning hours, according to Venezuela’s minister of communications. He charged “sabotage” against the opposition.

The Venezuelan government says that Friday morning’s blackout in the nation’s capital was caused by sabotage.

The Venezuelan capital of Caracas and other regions experienced a widespread power outage on Friday before dawn, according to the ministry of communication and information. The minister offered no evidence, only accusing them of sabotage.

On the state-run VTV channel, Freddy Nanez stated, “We are informing you that today, at roughly 4:40 a.m. (0840 GMT/UTC), there was an electrical sabotage in Venezuela, targeting the country’s electrical infrastructure, impacting nearly the whole territory.”

All 24 of the nation’s states, he claimed, had reported complete or partial power outages.

The claims coincide with the government’s threatening legal action against opposition leaders following the contentious presidential election on July 28 .
