US-Israeli strikes hit petrochemicals hub in Iran-

There is a “high chance” of casualties following a reported U.S.-Israeli attack on the Mahshahr Special Petrochemical Zone in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, Iran’s ISNA news agency said, Reuters reported.

US-Israeli strikes on Saturday targeted a petrochemicals hub in southwestern Iran, hitting several companies in the area, Iranian media reported.

“Explosions occurred in the Special Petrochemical Zone of Mahshahr,” said Fars news agency, citing the deputy governor for Khuzestan province.

Fars said the “US-Israeli attack on Mahshahr” hit three companies in the area, while Tasnim news agency said “the extent of the damage remains unknown

Dubai authorities dealt with an incident caused by debris that fell onto the facade of a building in Dubai’s Marina Area. The authorities said no fire or injuries were reported from the incident.

Israeli media, citing officials, said one US crew member was rescued after a fighter jet was shot down over Iran, with a search operation underway. A US fighter ​jet was shot down over ‌Iran ⁠and a ⁠search ​and rescue operation ​is underway for any survivors, ​a ⁠US official ‌told ​Reuters ​on Friday. The ⁠official, who spoke on ​condition of anonymity, ​did not offer further details. The ‌Pentagon and US ​Central ​Command ⁠did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for ​comment.
