UPdate: Hassan Nasrallah was killed alongside Hezbollah Commanders in Friday’s airstrike. Israel military confirms

The Israeli military claims to have struck the Lebanon headquarters of Hezbollah, according to CNN

According to the Israeli military, Friday’s airstrike in Beirut, Lebanon, killed Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah. There has been no confirmation from Hezbollah.

  • According to Lebanon’s health ministry, the strikes destroyed buildings in a densely populated area, leaving at least six people dead and numerous others injured. According to reports, Israel has increased its attacks on southern Beirut in an effort to target Hezbollah’s arsenals.
  • The US defense secretary claims that Israel did not inform the US about the strikes until after the attack had started. The absence of notification, according to sources, has increased US annoyance with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has made a combative speech earlier at the UN General Assembly and sent conflicting signals on a ceasefire proposal spearheaded by the US.
  • The recent conflict in Lebanon has resulted in the displacement of over 100,000 people; however, officials have stated that the actual number is probably much higher. As much as 500,000 people are probably internally displaced, the health minister of Lebanon told CNN.
