UAE, Sudan blame each other over bombing of ambassador home

The attack on the residence of the UAE’s ambassador in Khartoum is being attributed to the Sudanese armed forces. However, the military, claiming UAE support, has placed the blame on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
This month, the army stepped up its efforts to wrest control of Khartoum back from RSF figures.

The United Arab Emirates on Monday accused the armed forces of Sudan of bombing its ambassador’s residence in Khartoum.
The building sustained significant damage as a result of the attack on the UAE’s ambassador’s residence in the capital of Sudan, according to a statement from the ministry.
The Sudanese army denied the charge, placing the onus on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group that Khartoum claims has received support from the UAE during the country’s 17-month-long civil war.
UAE calls the attack “heinous.”
“Strongly condemned the heinous attack that targeted the residence of the UAE head of mission in Khartoum by a Sudanese army aircraft, which resulted in extensive damage to the building,” the oil-rich UAE’s Foreign Ministry was quoted as saying by the official WAM news agency.
