UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Meets Italian PM Meloni in Rome

Meloni expressed her hope that the visit would serve as a significant catalyst for advancing cooperation between the two nations, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that non-oil trade between the UAE and Italy had surpassed $14 billion last year, reflecting a 21.2 percent growth compared to 2023. He expressed optimism that further cooperation and trade between the countries would continue to thrive.

The meeting specifically addressed areas such as the economy, investment, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy.

“His Highness emphasized that the UAE-Italy relationship dates back to the founding of the UAE and has evolved into a strategic partnership over the years,” WAM reported.

Sheikh Mohamed also noted the UAE’s recent announcement to invest $40 billion in Italy, which he believes will foster growth and prosperity for both nations and their citizens.
