Two Delta Air Lines employees were killed, and a third suffered major injuries at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta on Tuesday, the airline confirmed. The incident occurred at Delta’s TechOps maintenance facility, according to spokesperson Samantha Facteau.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 5 a.m., Atlanta Police Department Major Kelley Collier told USA TODAY. Officials reported that a plane tire exploded while being changed, resulting in the deaths of two employees and sending a third to the hospital with serious injuries.
