Donald Trump declares that the US “won’t use force” to take Greenland, despite saying his military would be “unstoppable”.

He says the US has “never asked for anything, and we never got anything”.

“We probably won’t get anything unless I decide to use excessive strength and force,” Trump adds.

“We would be, frankly, unstoppable, but I won’t do that.”

The US president further states that everyone would be thankful for his “biggest statement” because “people thought I would use force.”

“I don’t have to use force, I don’t want to use force, I won’t use force,” he adds.
Trump: US ‘golden dome’ would be built on Greenland
Donald Trump is continuing to talks about the importance of Greenland in his speech.

“All we want from Denmark, for national and international security and to keep our very energetic and dangerous potential enemies at bay, is this land on which we’re going to build the greatest golden dome ever built,” the US president says.

“It’s going to, by its very nature, going to be defending Canada.”

Trump goes on to say Canada “gets a lot of freebies” from the US before and should be grateful.
