Trump Threatens Jail for Election Cheating in 2024, Repeats False 2020 Fraud Claims

Former President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning, threatening to imprison anyone involved in “unscrupulous behavior” related to the 2024 election results. Trump, who has repeatedly made false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, posted the threat on his social media platform, Truth Social.

In his post, Trump reiterated his accusations of widespread fraud in the 2020 election, calling out Democrats for “rampant Cheating and Skullduggery.” He vowed that if he wins in 2024, those involved in election fraud would face long-term prison sentences.

“[WHEN I WIN] those who cheated will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Trump wrote, adding that the 2024 election will be subject to “the closest professional scrutiny.”

Trump’s threat extended to lawyers, political operatives, donors, illegal voters, and corrupt election officials, promising they would be caught and prosecuted.

This marks one of the most comprehensive threats Trump has made during his 2024 campaign, even targeting people on the periphery, such as donors and election workers. His previous campaigns, especially in 2016, focused more on direct opponents, like Hillary Clinton.

Election workers, such as Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, were famously targeted by Trump and his allies after the 2020 election, with false claims of fraud affecting their lives.

Ahead of the 2024 election, Trump has returned to making similar unfounded claims about election interference, warning Republicans to focus on election integrity during a recent speech in Wisconsin. He suggested that if cheating is stopped, he wouldn’t need to campaign, stating, “We’re going to win by so much.”

Trump and his allies filed numerous unsuccessful lawsuits to overturn the 2020 election, and concerns remain that Republicans could pursue similar legal challenges in battleground states leading up to the 2024 election.
