Three people have been arrested following a stabbing that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man in the centre of Spa on Friday night, the Verviers judicial authorities announced on Sunday afternoon. A fourth suspect is still being sought.
The forensic doctor also confirmed that the young man had been stabbed three times with a sharp object, one of which was probably fatal. An autopsy will be carried out on Monday 2 June in the morning,’ said Vanessa Clérin, public prosecutor for the Verviers division.None of the three people arrested has yet been brought before the investigating judge,” she added. The investigation is continuing, in particular through the analysis of various surveillance cameras in the town and footage filmed by people present at the scene, as well as numerous interviews, with the aim of establishing as clearly as possible what happened.
The altercation took place near Place Royale, in the centre of Spa, at around 3:00 in the morning. The young man died from his injuries after being taken to hospital.
Another stabbing took place in Spa at around 21:00 on Saturday evening, near the Sept Heures park, not far from the scene of the first attack. These new incidents are not related to the first ones but caused serious injuries to another person. The latter’s condition was initially critical but has since stabilised
