A man in his 30s died after the car he was driving struck a tree in Headford, Co Kerry, yesterday.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the single vehicle crash, which happened on the L3013 at Knockdooragh, Headford, at around 11.20pm last night.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for examination by forensic collision investigators with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
Any road users with camera footage (including dashcam), who were travelling in the area between 11pm and 11.30pm, are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.

Separately, a man in his 30s died following a three-vehicle collision on the N4 near Edgeworthstown in Co Longford yesterday.
The collision, which involved two cars and a van, happened on the Longford town side of the N4 after the Edgeworthstown Roundabout at around 7pm.
The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 30s, died in the crash.
In Co Antrim, a man in his 80s was also killed in a single-vehicle crash in Bushmills at 2.35pm yesterday.
The driver was taken to hospital after the crash in the Carnbore Road area, but he later died.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 779.
