Three charged with assisting Hong Kong’s intelligence service

Media reports state that three have been charged with supporting Hong Kong’s intelligence agency.

Three men have been accused of helping Hong Kong’s intelligence agency, according to London police.

The three men, whose ages range from 30 to 60, were charged with offenses under Britain’s National Security Act, the Metropolitan Police announced on Monday.

They are accused of carrying out activities in Britain intended to help Hong Kong’s intelligence service in Britain and conducting foreign interference.

One of the three men is an official at the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London, according to the territory’s government.

The Embassy of China in Britain issued a statement saying China “strongly condemns the UK’s fabrication of the so-called case.”

British authorities last month charged two people with providing prejudicial information to China. Earlier this month, Britain announced that it would expel Russia’s defense attache over spying allegations.
