The Israel Defense Forces’ weeklong raid on Al-Shifa, the largest hospital in Gaza, is now being referred to by Israeli military sources as one of the single largest and most successful operations in the nearly six-month war with Hamas. Approximately 480 of the over 800 men detained by the Israeli military are believed to be members of Islamic Jihad or Hamas. According to the IDF, special intelligence units have started questioning some of them, and those who were determined not to be associated with extremist organizations were freed. Over 140 Hamas terrorists have reportedly been killed during the operation, according to Israeli officials.On Monday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) initiated an operation at Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, alleging that “senior Hamas terrorists” were utilizing the facility.
