The first foreign airline to be approved to operate out of Western Sydney Airport will be Singapore Airlines.

When the new Western Sydney Airport opens in 2026, Singapore Airlines will be the first foreign airline to receive approval for direct flights into the facility.

Today, the agreement was confirmed by Transport Minister Catherine King and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who stated that it will allow Western Sydney to become more accessible to the outside world.

At a press conference, he stated, “Singapore Airlines is realizing the opportunity that investing here will bring them.”
