Violent Sunday night in Brussels: Man stabbed in Midi station, another shot in Molenbeek
Two violent incidents – one stabbing and one shooting, seemingly unrelated – took place in the Brussels-Capital Region on Sunday night.
The first incident took place at around 23:00 in the Brussels Midi metro station, where a person was reportedly stabbed. An emergency medical team and an ambulance were sent to the scene, the spokesperson for the Brussels fire brigade confirmed.
Shortly after midnight, another team was sent to the Molenbeek-Saint-Jean municipality. Near the Beekkant metro station, on Boulevard Edmond Machtens, one person was injured in a shooting.
The victim was taken to hospital, the fire service spokesperson confirmed.
The exact circumstances of the two incidents have not yet been disclosed. The Brussels Times has contacted the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office for more information.
