Sudan’s Market Shelling Causes 21 Deaths and 67 Injuries: Report”

According to a medical source who spoke to AFP on Sunday, there were 21 fatalities and 67 injuries from shelling at a market in Sennar, southeast Sudan. The source blamed paramilitaries for the attack.

The Sudan Doctors Network, which was established subsequent to the war’s outbreak in April 2023, stated that over 70 people had been injured in addition to the same number of deaths. It attributed the shelling to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Fighting alongside Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the de facto ruler of Sudan, is the RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.

The RSF has been charged by the government in the past with deliberately attacking civilians and civilian institutions.
