The question on which so much hangs is whether Trump sees it as a basis of peace negotiations with Putin and for rebuilding relations with Zelenskyy and Ukraine.

In relation to placating Trump, Zelenskyy said three relevant things:
1) Sorry, President Trump.
2) You are the boss, President Trump.
3) I’ll sign the transfer of precious mineral rights to you, without a prior commitment from you to guarantee our security .That is a colossal quantity of humble pie for a war-time leader to eat.

Will it persuade Trump that – in his terms – Zelenskyy can be trusted? Will it persuade Trump to reverse his ban on military aid to Ukraine?
