Standoff suspect in custody after shots fired by Fresno Police officer -FRESNO, Calif. —

 A man is in custody following a standoff in East Central Fresno, where shots were fired by a Fresno Police officer.

The incident began near Turner and Recreation avenues, just south of Belmont Avenue, at about 7 p.m. Sunday.

Officers went out there as part of a follow-up investigation regarding a traffic stop of a wanted parolee that happened Friday night.

After confirming the man was at the friend’s home, they set up a perimeter. He tried to escape from the home on foot and during that time, officers observed the suspect had a firearm in his hand.Standoff suspect in custody after shots fired by Fresno Police officer –
