The Ryanair flight from London Stansted had only just arrived in the Canary Islands when the brawl is said to have erupted, which reportedly broke out among a stag party. Police have not specified the detainees’ gender or nationalities, but it’s believed at least some of those arrested are British.
According to witnesses to the events, a group of approximately 15 people who were celebrating a bachelor party clashed with three other people and at least one of them was injured,” the newspaper reports. “The confrontation took place when disembarking from the Ryanair plane, from Stansted airport, London, just before boarding the bus that would take them to the baggage claim area. Several images of the altercation capture the moments of tension experienced, where people are seen without shirts.”
According to Spanish newspaper Diario de Avisos, the fight broke out on the runway at Tenerife Sur-Reina Sofía airport. The incident occurred this Friday shortly after the flight in which those involved were travelling landed on the island at 2.30pm.
