The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Italy on Thursday called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza and the release of all hostages
In a joint declaration issued after talks in Rome, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani reiterated their call for the “immediate end of the war in Gaza and the immediate release of all hostages.”They emphasized their opposition to “any displacement of Palestinians under any pretext,” stressing that “the principles of non-transfer and non-expulsion must be fully upheld.”
The ministers also called for “unfettered access for humanitarian assistance and life-saving supplies throughout the Gaza Strip, as well as the release of all withheld Palestinian clearance revenues.”
They said any post-war arrangements “must be firmly linked to a clear, time-bound implementation of a political solution that ends the occupation and delivers a just and comprehensive peace.”
Riyadh and Rome also condemned “unilateral or violent actions in the West Bank that undermine the two-state solution” and said they would “explore concrete cooperation to empower the Palestinian Authority.”
