Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have discussed the possibility of ‍a US intervention in Iran in a phone call yesterday, Reuters has reported, citing an Israeli source who was present.

The news comes amid new momentum for American interventionism after the Trump administration extracted Nicolas Maduro from Venezuela. The US also launched airstrikes against Iran last summer.

Donald Trump last night again threatened to intervene as he wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform that the US stood “ready to ‍help”.
