Romanian police raid Andrew Tate and his brother’s houses

The contentious social media personality Andrew Tate and his sibling Tristan are currently in Romania awaiting trial on allegations of trafficking in persons. Four of the couple’s properties have been raided by authorities. The court’s ruling states that it “dismisses as unfounded the defendants’ request to replace the obligation not to leave Romanian territory with an obligation not to leave the European Union’s territorial limit.”

The decision came after the prosecution filed an appeal. In Romania, the Tate brothers are subject to judicial supervision; their situation is reassessed every sixty days.

Eugen Vidineac, the Tates’ attorney, declared in a press release that the brothers would “fully comply” with the court’s decision.

The Bucharest Tribunal’s decision to allow the pair to leave the country had been hailed by his spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, as a “significant victory and a major step forward” in the case.
