The son of US director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife has been arrested, after his parents were found dead at their home in Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles jail records.
Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested on Sunday and booked on Monday, LASD Inmate Center records show. Bail has been set at $4million.
He parents died in an “apparent homicide” on Sunday, according to LA police.
Rob Reiner, who is known for hugely successful films such as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally and This is Spinal Tap, was 78.
The filmmaker and his wife, Michele Singer, were found dead at their Brentwood home on Sunday, a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told ITV News’ US Partner CNN.
US President Donald Trump launched an unexpected attack on Reiner, when reacting to news that the director and his wife had been found stabbed to death.
Writing on Truth Social he said: “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.
