According to the source, who made comments to the al-Joumhouria newspaper on Thursday, the US administration is relieved that the likelihood of a larger Israel-Hezbollah conflict has decreased.
The source went on, “This matter helps and contributes to boosting the chances of a diplomatic solution.”
Washington will keep up its vigorous efforts in this area, the source said, adding that all sides should refrain from taking any further action that would exacerbate the situation and lead to a wide-ranging conflict in which no party has a stake.
