In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude towards US President Donald Trump for recognising Pakistan’s pivotal role in the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan.More than 80,000 valiant soldiers and civilians gave their lives in the conflict.Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining a close partnership with the United States for the promotion of regional peace and stability.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has always played a key role in counter-terrorism efforts, working to deprive terrorists and extremist groups of safe havens and preventing their operations against any country.

He added that Pakistan’s determination to combat terrorism remains strong, citing the sacrifices made by over 80,000 brave soldiers and civilians in the fight.

PM Shehbaz further stressed that Pakistan’s leadership and people remain steadfast in their resolve to eliminate terrorism and take every possible measure towards achieving this goal. He reiterated that Pakistan will continue to work closely with the US to foster peace and stability in the region.
