Police and the provincial government said a fuel tanker exploded outside Jinnah International Airport, which is Pakistan’s largest airport. Provincial Interior Minister Zia Ul Hassan disputed this version, telling Geo News that it was an attack on foreign nationals. Hassan said he suspected the blast came from an improvised explosive device (IED). An Interior Ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Associated Press that the attack was aimed at Chinese nationals. A local emergency services official told Dawn that a body and injured people have been shifted to a local hospital. Ten vehicles were damaged, four of which were destroyed, the emergency services official added.
