Nadal abandons latest comeback with Indian Wells withdrawal

According to a report in Le monde On the eve of his opening match in California, Rafael Nadal called off his scheduled ATP Tour comeback at the Indian Wells Masters on Wednesday, March 6, citing his lack of preparation for the demands of tournament tennis.

Four days prior to the stunning decision made by the Spanish icon, the 37-year-old had lost an exhibition in Las Vegas to fellow countryman and world number two Carlos Alcaraz. Nadal only played in the Brisbane International this season after missing nearly the entire 2023 campaign due to abdominal and other injuries, during which he experienced a hip injury flare-up.
