Authorities in Minneapolis are responding to reports of a shooting involving federal law enforcement.Horrific shooting by federal agents’ – Minnesota governorGovernor of Minnesota Tim Walz has posted on X after the incident.
He wrote: “I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.
“The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”We ask the public to remain calm and avoid the immediate area,” a social media statement from the city read.
Two Department of Homeland Security officials told CBS News the person shot had a firearm.
Video appearing to show shooting posted online
A video that appears to show the shooting has been posted on X.
In the footage, a number of masked federal agents can be seen surrounding a man, who is forced to the floor in a struggle.
Several gunshots can be heard before the agents, some of whom can be seen holding pistols, move away from the man, who can be seen lying on his back on the street.
Sky News has not independently verified the footage, which appears to have been filmed from behind a window.
A man can be heard saying: “Did they kill that fing guy? Are you fing kidding me?”
The incident happened in the area of West 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue in Minnesota, according to Sky News’ US partner NBC News.
