A man was arrested in Tokyo after throwing several Molotov cocktails at the headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party and driving his car into a security barrier outside the prime minister’s office on Saturday, local media reported. After throwing about five Molotov cocktail-like objects at the PLD office, the suspect drove about 500 meters to the prime minister’s office, NHK reported, where he crashed into a fence and tried to launch an apparent smoke bomb, but it misfired. and was arrested by the police at the scene on suspicion of obstructing public functions.
