Lufthansa CEO concerned more airlines will cut German routes

After airlines such as Eurowings and Ryanair reduced their routes to Germany due to excessive fees and costs, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr fears a negative impact on Germany as a place for economic activity.

The CEO of German national airline Lufthansa, Carsten Spohr, has warned of further reductions in flight plans to Germany due to high airport costs.
“I am very concerned about the connection of our business locations,” Spohr told the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag. “The extreme increase in state air traffic costs leads to a further decrease in services. More and more airlines are avoiding German airports or canceling important connections.”

Airlines such as Eurowings and Ryanair have already canceled several flights to Germany, citing high fares. In view of this, Spohr criticized the additional regulations planned by the government.
