Liverpool continued their impressive start to the season by securing a sixth straight win with victory at Crystal Palace

Liverpool continued their impressive start to the season by securing a sixth straight win in all competitions with victory at Crystal Palace – but it came at a price with goalkeeper Alisson injured.
The Premier League leaders took the three points thanks to Diogo Jota’s first-half goal, with the Portuguese striker taking advantage of poor defending to head home Cody Gakpo’s cross.
But as they closed to three points, Alisson appeared to injure his thigh during a save and was replaced by Vitezslav Jaros for the final 10 minutes, with the Czech goalkeeper making his debut.
Liverpool have lost just once in the Premier League so far, but Crystal Palace are without a win, suffering their fourth defeat in seven games.

Diogo Jota’s goal in the first half gave the Premier League leaders a three-point lead. The Portuguese striker took advantage of shoddy defending to head home Cody Gakpo’s cross.
However, as they got closer to three points, Alisson seemed to hurt his thigh while making a save, so Vitezslav Jaros, the Czech goalkeeper, came on for the last ten minutes.
Liverpool have lost just once in the Premier League so far, but Crystal Palace are without a win, suffering their fourth defeat in seven games.
Liverpool saw an Eddie Nketiah strike ruled out for offside, while Ismaila Sarr forced Alisson into a fine save just before the break. Liverpool’s failure to score a second goal meant that Palace, who trailed for long periods, still had a chance to salvage something.
Alisson was called upon twice in the second half to make saves, first clearing Nketiah’s shot after the visitors were caught in possession, then pushing Eberechi Eze.
While the goal difference was a blow for Liverpool, Palace were unable to really test Jaros before the final whistle, with Eze firing past the keeper after a good break.
The win moved Liverpool four points clear at the top of the table before kick-off at 3pm. Palace, meanwhile, remain in the top three with three points from seven games.
