Just when you thought this saga was finally fading into the background, Kim Kardashian and Ray J are back in court headlines – with a fresh plot twist.
A California judge has shut down Kim’s attempt to keep a reported $6 million settlement under wraps, tied to their long-running dispute over the infamous 2003 tape.
Translation: the court is not convinced there’s a strong reason to keep things secret.
In the March 30 ruling, Judge Steven A. Ellis did not mince words, stating Kardashian and Kris Jenner “have not met their burden” to justify sealing the agreement.
Even tougher? The judge added, “Plaintiffs have presented no admissible evidence that disclosure of the settlement agreement and its terms would cause them any harm.”
Legal arguments claiming the release could damage Kardashian’s “privacy interests” and “private business affairs” did not land either – dismissed as “too vague, speculative, amorphous, and unsupported.”
There was one tiny win: sensitive bank account details still stay private. Small victories, right?
The drama traces back to Ray J’s 2025 countersuit, where he claimed Kim reignited controversy around the tape to promote The Kardashians.
He alleges a $6 million deal was struck to keep everyone quiet – only for the topic to pop up again on the show.
