Chelsea and Spain’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has agreed to a season-long loan with Bournemouth and is expected to complete his medical.

This change came about because the 29-year-old’s Stamford Bridge contract was extended until 2026.

The extension was added to his current contract, which expires in June of next year, to keep Chelsea from losing him on a free transfer when the loan agreement ends.

The move is expected to end Bournemouth’s interest in Arsenal’s number two, Aaron Ramsdale, and could see Mark Travers leave the team before Friday’s transfer deadline.

While on loan at Real Madrid, Kepa played 20 games and won the Champions League.
