Judge rejects P Diddy’s gag order request to prevent ‘silencing individuals’
Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs is currently being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after being arrested on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering..

Combs’ attorneys had attempted to silence potential witnesses by requesting the gag order. The order would have prevented potential witnesses and their attorneys from speaking publicly about the allegations against P Diddy.

Judge Arun Subramanian said he is trying to balance an alleged victim’s right to free speech with Combs’ right to a fair trial. “Not all alleged victims will be participants in this case, and a blanket restriction on their speech will silence individuals who may never have anything to do with the proceedings here. And in any event, less restrictive alternatives must be considered and rejected before imposing a restraint on speech,” Judge Subramanian wrote in the order, which has been obtained by The Mirror US.

The order continued: “The sheer reach of Combs’s requested order would also necessarily impact the numerous ongoing civil cases involving Combs.” The gag order request was also described as “incredible broad.”Judge Arun Subramanian said he is trying to balance an alleged victim’s right to free speech with Combs’ right to a fair trial. “Not all alleged victims will be participants in this case, and a blanket restriction on their speech will silence individuals who may never have anything to do with the proceedings here.
