Israeli war cabinet meets to discuss response to Iranian attack

Israel’s war cabinet has met to discuss its response to Iran’s unprecedented drone and missile attack.

According to BBC Israel refrained from revealing if a decision had been made.

While strongly denouncing Iran’s actions, its allies have urged Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to exercise caution.

Israel’s war cabinet has convened for the second consecutive day in response to Iran’s large-scale missile and drone attack on its territory.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened his war cabinet again on Monday.

An Israeli media outlet reported that, though various options were being discussed by the cabinet, the aim is to inflict pain on Iran, not to start an all-out war.

Although Iran has signalled it considers the matter closed, the Israeli military’s chief of staff said the attack would not go unanswered.

“Look, as we look forward, we weigh our steps, and this launch of so many missiles, cruise missiles, UAVs to the territory of the State of Israel will be met with a response,” Lt Gen Herzi Halevi said.
