Israeli military says it attacked Hezbollah’s intelligence HQ in Beirut

“Early this morning [Sunday], the Israeli Air Force carried out an intelligence-based attack against a Hezbollah intelligence headquarters command center and an underground weapons factory in Beirut” , the military said in a press statement.

Lebanese state media reported two Israeli strikes Sunday morning in Haret Hreik and one in Hadath — both in the Hezbollah stronghold of Dahiyeh, south of Beirut.

In the statement, the Israeli army also said that its warplanes killed three Hezbollah commanders, including Al Haj Abbas Salameh, a senior officer in the group’s Southern Command, Reda Abbas Awada, a communications expert, and Ahmad Ali Hussein, who said he was responsible for the development of strategic weapons.

Hezbollah had no immediate comment.

The Israeli military said on Saturday that it had destroyed tunnels and underground infrastructure in southern Lebanon and killed the Hezbollah commander in the Bint Jbeil region on Friday.
