Israel’s military radio station reported on Saturday that the country’s political leadership has instructed Israeli forces to halt their offensive in Gaza City, the largest city in the Palestinian enclave of Gaza.
The report said the forces have also been instructed to reduce their activities in Gaza to a minimum and to carry out only defensive operations there. Meanwhile,Donald Trump has said Hamas is ready for a “lasting peace” after the Palestinian militants agreed to release all remaining hostages, as he called on Israel to stop bombing Gaza.
The US leader was responding to a statement by Hamas on Friday in which the group committed to returning all remaining hostages in Gaza, dead and alive.
