The Israeli army issues new evacuation orders from Beirut, with reports of an attack in Damascus, according to the BBC.
The Israeli military says it cannot confirm that the potential replacement for former Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hashem Safieddine, was killed in an airstrike last week.

It comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israeli military had “eliminated” Safieddine.

Earlier, Israel said its troops had begun ground operations in southwest Lebanon – until now their week-long occupation had focused on the eastern side of the border.
