JERUSALEM/BEIRUT/CAIRO, Oct 19 (Reuters) – Israel strikes Hezbollah arms facilities in southern Beirut on Saturday after the group fired rockets into northern Israel. A spokesman for Hezbollah confirmed a drone was sent towards Prime Minister Netanyahu’s holiday home, although he wasn’t present. Netanyahu condemned the act as an assassination attempt by “Iran’s proxy Hezbollah” and warned of serious retaliation, particularly in response to an earlier Iranian missile attack.

Meanwhile, Israeli bombardments in Gaza, aimed at dismantling Hamas, have reportedly killed over 100 people, according to local medics and media outlets. The situation remains critical, with a siege intensifying around three hospitals in the area. Despite the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, both sides have vowed to continue fighting, dashing hopes for ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon.
As U.S. elections loom, Israel has ramped up military actions, aiming to secure its borders and weaken its enemies’ ability to regroup. On Saturday, Israel strikes Hezbollah in southern Gaza, declaring the end of Hamas rule in the region. Later that day, an Israeli airstrike on a multi-story building in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, killed at least 73 people and left dozens wounded, according to medics and Hamas media reports.
