Israel steps up bombing in Lebanon as Hezbollah attacks Haifa
Israel announces it has launched a wave of airstrikes in 120 locations in Lebanon, as Hezbollah targets the port city with rockets. Israel expanded its attacks in southern Lebanon and bombed the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut, while the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a series of missile attacks in northern Israel, including near the city of Haifa.
The Israeli military said it carried out 120 strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon “within an hour” on Monday. An earlier attack on a communal building near Bint Jbeil killed at least 10 Lebanese firefighters, the latest in a string of dozens of first responders killed in recent weeks, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health.
