Israel kills 26 people in a mosque attack.

Israeli attacks on a mosque and a school in Gaza kill 26 people, according to the Al-Balah Ministry of Health in Gaza on October 6.
Gaza’s Health Ministry, run by Hamas, said 26 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on a mosque and a school of displaced Palestinians in the center of the territory.

Dozens of people were also injured in the attacks that hit the Ibn Rushd School and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Mosque in Deir al-Balah early Sunday morning, the ministry said.

The Israeli military said it was targeting Hamas militants operating in “command and control” centers in the villages.

In northern Gaza, Israeli forces surrounded the Jabalia area in response to what they said were efforts by Hamas to rebuild.

The army also released new possible evacuation zones in the north and reopened roads to a humanitarian zone.
