Iranian Oil Minister Visits Key Oil Terminal Amid Israel Strike Fears

Iran’s Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad arrived on Sunday morning at Kharg Island, Iran’s largest oil terminal, amid fears that Israeli strikes could target Iranian oil facilities in response to a missile attack launched by the Islamic Republic against the Jew at the beginning of the week. .

According to the Iranian Oil Ministry’s Shana news site, Paknejad intends to visit oil facilities and meet operational personnel stationed on Kharg Island. This terminal, which has a storage capacity of 23 million barrels of crude oil, exports a significant part of its oil to China, Tehran’s main customer. During the first half of 2024, Beijing imported an average of 1.2 to 1.4 million barrels per day from Iran, ignoring US sanctions.
