Iranian flight makes U-turn after Israel take over Beirut airport control tower communications.

An Iranian Qeshm Fars Air flight from Tehran, possibly heading for Lebanon or Syria, made a U-turn over Iraqi airspace earlier today, data from flight tracking websites show.

The incident follows the IDF’s warning last night that it would thwart any efforts by Iran to transfer weapons to Hezbollah, including through the public airport in Beirut.

Lebanese media cite Ali Hamiya, the minister of public works and transport in Lebanon, as saying that after Israel took control of

the airport’s control tower and threatened to use force if the Iranian plane landed in Lebanon, he told it not to land at Beirut’s airport and not to enter Lebanese airspace.
